Working As Unto The Lord!

Therefore, my beloved brothers and sisters, be steadfast, immovable, always excelling in the work of the Lord, always doing your best and doing more than is needed, being continually aware that your labor even to the point of exhaustion in the Lord is not futile nor wasted It is never without purpose. 1 Corinthians 15:58

Being a registered nurse is the most rewarding professions. The truth is that if I have to do it again; I will do it without any hesitation or doubt. In my heart, I wanted something more than just a profession. I wanted to serve. Thinking in ways to contribute to the kingdom; beside preaching the gospel, I find it an inspiration to help people who cannot help themselves. One day, praying for a miracle; I was fasting and praying. I asked God to please help me pass my boards. I asked God: “Please help me pass and become a prudent nurse, I will forever serve you, I will surrender it all, I will dedicate my license to you by serving and preaching the gospel, I will always remain humble, I will make the calling to accept Jesus as savior in every opportunity that you grant me Lord”. If I am a nurse today; it is not because of my own strength, but God's favor and grace. Everything that God gives; he may also take away. Never forget God when he answers your prayer. “I still remember the days I prayed for what I have now”. Florence Nightingale was a British nurse known for being a social reformer known as the founder of modern nursing. She became “The Lady with the Lamp”. She was a caring nurse and leader, In addition to writing over 150 books, pamphlets and reports on health related issues. Florence highly valued education and advocated raising the standards of education for nurses. She emphasized nursing as a calling, a vocation, someone devoted to God.

“A Nurse must have a respect for her own calling, because God’s precious gift of life is often literally placed in her hands”. ~Florence Nightingales. My journey in nursing has not been the best. My journey has been a very difficult path, where I can testify that it made me doubt my calling. Every Christian woman knows the price to serve God. To serve; we most die and as I paraphrase with deep sorrow; “I have given everything for garbage to serve God”.

\ In Apostle Paul's letter to the Philippians he explained all his achievements and status as worthless in comparison to knowing Jesus. I recently graduated with my BSN in Science, made the Dean’s list, earned honors and did it with integrity. No shortcuts, just hard work, faith, and resilience. Now I've already started my Masters degree. The journey continues and I'm only getting started. For those who humiliated me and did not believe in me they fueled the fire. There is not a part of my career in Nursing that I can remember without pain. “But when Jesus heard it, He replied, " Those who are strong and well (healthy) have no need of a physician, but those who are weak and sick.” (Mathew 9:12) Remember to work as for the Lord. In whatever you do secular; do it for the Lord. Remember to always be humble to serve in your secular profession. There is injustice, unfairness and bullies; but our reward comes from the Lord. We know that Jesus is coming soon and he is bringing his recompense to repay each and one of us. I am writing to remind you of his big recompense and his reward to all who love him. We must remain faithful because he is faithful. God is calling his faithful servant to stay humble and always do what's right. If you are being mistreated, misunderstood, abandoned, you are not alone. Continue praying! I understand that you are tired! You want to quit! You don’t have the strength anymore! Today I want you to know that there is hope. Jesus reminds us through his word that there will no longer exist anything that accursed detestable, offensive, impure, hateful or horrible. There should be no more curse! But the throne of God and the Lamb should be in it. “Bless are those who do his commandments that they may have the right to the tree of life, and they may enter through the gates into the city. Keep pushing through. You are going to make it. “You may ask me for anything in my name, and I will do it”. John 14:14. Remember that God causes situations to work out for your benefit. Do not give up; Instead seek God's help and do not stop praying. As believers, we know that when someone seeks God, the Bible promises, “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” (Jer. 29:13).

Lets Pray,

Thank you father God for all your Blessings. Your way is perfect for my life and all of those I love. THough sometimes it is hard and uncomfortable to do the right thing, help me to stay faithful and remember that you fight for me. You defend my cause Lord. Lord, we ask you to help us. Renew and convict my mind of the steps you would have me take, and give me confidence to walk forward boldly with you. Thank you for guiding me as I learn your word and lean into your presence. Thank you for going before me and paving the way toward your will. Lord forgive us! We need your help!  Lord righteousness and justice are the foundation of your throne. I believe in the name of Jesus that you already reverse this situation for anyone facing injustice in their secular profession in the name of Jesus.

Prophesy to these bones!

Ezekiel 37:4-5

Then he said to me, Prophesy to these bones and say to them, “Dry bones, hear the word of the Lord! This is what the sovereign Lord says to these bones: I will make breath enter you, and will come to life.

Dealing with depression while still trying to remain strong and faithful can be a challenge. When Injustice seems to prevail, we begin to doubt God and become vulnerable and weak. What do you do when injustice knocks you down? When the whole world seems so cold. I found it hard when people might question my faith. They might accuse me of not trusting God enough or just tell me worry was a sin. If I told them I was feeling numb, lonely, anxious or depressed, they might say I just wasn't praying enough, reading the bible enough or applying scriptures correctly.  Depression can happen to believers who have strong faith and are godly people. Unfortunately, some Christians made me feel ashamed about my emotional struggles. Someone once said: “emotional abuse has the same impact as physical abuse”. Emotional wounds need healing too. Leadership comes with a unique set of pressure that most regular roles don't have. Have you ever lamented? Have you ever cried out of anguish? Feeling the pain in your chest, having such pain that words can not explain. Crying out to God, asking God to take away the pain and sorrow?

I remember being in my bedroom alone asking God to please help me! My husband, who is a firefighter, was on his shift. I saw the spirit of death visiting me night after night. I could not eat, nor was I able to fight my depression and continuous sadness from facing injustice. The tragic assassination of Charlie Kirk at Utah Valley University on September 10, 2025, was a profound injustice. While I may not be a public figure, witnessing this act of violence; I am certain that the injustices I endure are meaningful and worth acknowledging. This act of injustice has reinforced my commitment to stand against injustice. The personal sacrifices I've made—losing jobs, friends, and family—have been difficult, but they have been worth it. I will not remain silent." Nor should you remain silent. Raise your voice against injustice. No one was capable of defending my cause; Instead they all remained silent. (Luke 23:23-24) “But they were insistent, demanding with loud voices that He be crucified. And the voices of these men and of the chief priests prevailed. So Pilate gave sentence that it should be as they requested and he released to them the one they requested, who for rebellion and murder had been thrown into prison; but he delivered Jesus to their will.” Leaders are often providing support during times of grief, illness, and family strife. This constant exposure to others' pain and suffering can lead to compassion fatigue and emotional exhaustion. It is crucial that we understand the immense pressure on pastors to maintain a perfect image. Many pastors are not comfortable sharing their struggles with anyone. The bible instructs believers to pray for leaders: "Remember those who rule over you, who spoke the word of God to you, whose faith follows, considering the outcome of their way of life and imitating their faith:. Hebrew 13:7. Too much disappointment leads to emotional burnout. Elijah confessed to God that he preferred to die than live in their current reality. God did not revoke his prophetic calling due to his depression.  Instead, God provided comfort and sustenance during his low point. Even the most faithful can battle depression. Job, another man of God. He was blameless and upright. He was a wealthy man. God describes Job as “blameless”. He was a prosperous man who lost his wealth, livestock, and the death of his ten children in a tragic event. His wife urged him to curse God and die, expressing their despair over their suffering. Job did not curse God.  What is so amazing about our Lord? This is how the Lord responded to Satan: “Very well, then he is in your hands; But you must spare his life”.  Job's faith was rewarded,  and he was restored with greater blessings. Many people think that feeling emotionally broken is a sign of weakness. This is not true. In fact, I found that those who consider themselves “Christians” are the first to throw stones at you. They use their favorite verses to hurt you when you are facing trouble. Instead of praying for you. 1 John 4 says:  “Beloved do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone into the world." We are called to pray for each other. I have to admit; this is a very cold and comfortable generation. Unfortunately, Job's friends were certain that Job must have sinned in order to receive punishment and argue with him about it. Jeremiah, the weeping prophet because of his overwhelmed sadness and sorrow over the fate of his people. As a prophet his messages of repentance were ignored leading him to feel depressed. Our Savior, Jesus Christ also faced emotional anguish. “My soul is overwhelmed with sorrow to the point of death”. Jesus, our savior, was holy and perfect. There was no sin in him according to the bible. “Who committed no sin, nor was any deceit found in his mouth.  Charles Spurgeon,  my favorite 19th century preacher, battled depression. Rick Warren, founder of Saddleback and author of “The Purpose Driven Life” battle depression after his son Mathew die by suicide. It is crucial to address depression among leaders. The topic has been shrouded in silence and stigma. Depression is real and should not be ignored. Whether I believe that some of us can be more stronger than others; it should still be addressed immediately. For pastors, depression can have far reaching effects.

Lets pray,

Lord Savior! We cry out to you. Father, we need you. We can not do this without you. Help us Lord. Too many of us are facing injustice. Holy Spirit move in a super natural way. Father God guides us in the pursuit of justice. Father God in the name of Jesus open the eyes of those who are spiritual blind. Father God this world needs you. Bring awaken! We pray for justice that may prevail over evil. Help your saints discern  truth from falsehood. Grant us the courage to stand up against injustice and the strength to protect the innocent. We declare every tongue that confesses against any of God's children will not prevail. Silence in Jesus name every voice that rise up to accuse his chosen people. We thank you Jesus. Amen

Forgive!

“Beloved, do not avenge yourselves, but rather give place to wrath; for it is written, ‘Vengeance is Mine, I will repay, ‘says the Lord”  ...
